John joined MacMillan Knight LLP’s Calgary office in the summer of 2018. Prior to Joining the firm John enjoyed a successful career in the Canadian Armed Forces.

 

John is an experienced public administrator and has expanded his practice into the Provincial Court of Alberta and many other administrative and quasi-judicial tribunals at all levels of government. John has appeared before tribunals in Alberta and British Columbia and represents client in the Provincial Court of Alberta.

 

When John isn’t in the office, he can be found along the back roads of Alberta enjoying the mountains or on the Rugby pitch. John is currently the Vice President of the Millican-Ogden Community Association, Treasurer of the Calgary Hornets Rugby Football Club and a volunteer Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (UAV) pilot with the Open Aerial Imagery Association. Recently he has been appointed to the City of Calgary "Friends of the HMS Calgary Committee",  if that isn’t enough to occupy his time, he is completing a degree at Athabasca University all while parenting three nearly adult sons.  In the winter he can be found pondering why his Calgary Flames just can’t hockey before the all-star break and occasionally chasing granite down a narrow ice chute with a broom.
